Diagnosis: Tubers are yellow by yurac sunchchu and red by puca sunchchu.
Differences from Ñkello-huaccoto: habitus, a long and long decumbent  stem. Leaf has got wider leaflets, strongly dissected. There are up to 6 pairs of leaflets, three out of them are of a smaller size, up to 3 pairs of primary leaflets, the first is basiscopic, 1 pair of secondary leaflets, 1 pair of acroscopic leaflets.

Calyx is to some extent smaller. Shape of corolla petals in details is different (as a consequence of goffering), as well as the acumens. Stamen filaments are longer? Anthers are more sinuate?
Forms berries.
Cultivated in dep. Cuzco: Puquiura (Juz. ¹ 1242), Ckeccayoc (Juz. 1337), Poroy (Juz. ¹ 1397à, 1401). 1401 = puca sunchchu Lechn.
Indigenous names by white tuberous: ccaspa sunchchu, pasps (fissured) sunchchu, puca sunchchu, yurac (white) sunchchu, ocke (gray) sunchchu.
By red-tubered - puca ("red") sunchchu.
The name "fissured" perhaps points out the fissuring of skin by ripe tubers, which may also be connected to another name "gray, ashy".
