Diagnosis: A form close to v. bolivianum, well distinguishable from it and having an independent position.
Differences from v. bolivianum:
Red tubers, in a form of Pina (productivity is lower). The leaf is apparently slightly less dissected (no acroscopic?) and wider at the top and in primary leaflets.
Pedicle is more densely pubescent and more intensively colored, it is thick and short above articulation. Calyx is with shorter (and often wider?) mucronules. Corolla is lighter with more sloping petals. Ovary is more oval, but berries are globular.
Cultivated in La Paz and Capacabana under the name Munda, Jancko-imilla (wrong name). Juz. 1555, 1583â and 1808. |
