S. andigenum Juz. et Buk. var. imilla Buk. et Lechn. f. chiar - imilla Buk. et Lechn.

S.M. Bukasov. Potatoes of South America and their breeding use, Leningrad, 1933, p. 66.

Diagnosis: tubers of the type Pina, black-blue by f. chiar-imilla with more blue-violet spots, with small white areas under eyebrows near eyes, colored under skin.
Stem is green, decumbent after efflorescence (different from v. ckello-huaccoto). Leaves are 5-6 paired. There are 2-3 pairs of primary leaflets in a series, sometimes basiscopic, up to 2 pairs of secondary leaflets.
Pedicles are short, rarely of densely pubescent, below articulation rarely from 8, more often up to 25 mm, above articulation at first from 3, afterwards sometimes up to 10 mm, articulation is sometimes in the middle of pedicle. Upper part of pedicle is expanding towards the calyx basis, slightly ribbed.
Calyx is correct, 8-11 mm long, calyx lobes abruptly go over into narrow acumens about 3 mm long, pressed to the corolla (this is a difference from ckello, but not from alcca-huarmi), rarely strongly deflexed, pubescence more often short, pressed. Bud on the medium stage is narrower than by ckello-huacoto.
Corolla has a radius of 14-18 mm, petals are 8-9 mm long, acumens are long and pubescent at the top, color is blue with a short dark-green star (rarely dark-blue with a black star, like by some seedlings of this form). Seedlings can be also of a dark-violet or white color.
Anthers are in a clear conic column, chinked at the bottom, 6-7-(7,75) mm long. Stamen filaments are thick, outstanding from corolla margin, like by ckello.
Style is 10-11 mm long (thin), stigma is big, pressed, squeezed, conic, with a cornice-like margin, sinus is small with linear continuation , transilluminate at the top in terms of two yellowish points (same as ckello); ovary is egg-shaped. Berries are numerous except 1931.
Ñhiar-imilla has a number of characters, close to Ckello-huaccotto.
Differences: stems are more decumbent.
First flowers in the bostryx do not have a kneed pedicle, bud is narrower, color of anthers is more pale, there are less berries.
There is a form which varies from the type only in a black color of stems. Juz. ¹1606 with the same indigenous name Ñhiar-imilla.
By 1640 chiar-imilla from Tiahuanaco the star is not coloured.
Tuberization by Ñhiar-imilla is quite satisfying and is inferior to var. longibaccatum, and especially var. aymaranum.
Cultivated in Bolivia: La Paz. region Juz. ¹ 1582, 1660, 1660à, 1660ñ, 1680, 1683, 1714 and many others.
Indigenous name: chiar-imilla.
